Shedio’s
It seems the humble shed has come a long way from a dilapidated storage cupboard at the bottom of the garden. With dwindling budgets to build house extensions and more hoops to jump through than ever, the shed is turning designer studio. This iconic hideaway has long been an incubator for creativity so it seems natural that many people are looking to create their own place of inspiration amongst the birds and flowers.
Below are some examples of the modern approach, yet these still maintain the simplicity of form which kept our dads dry while reading the papers or tinkering with the mower. A new generation want more light and a few creature comforts like insulation but the simple aesthetic stays the same.

New Drum Light Movie
Here is a little movie to show the sound activation of the drum light, as you can see it picks up no other noises apart from the tap on the drum itself.

326 Sound activated drum light
326 is very proud to unveil ‘the drum light’ where music meets function. Utilising the classic lines of drum stand and snare this light looks great in any location and is fully height adjustable. One tap of the drum activates a set of LED lights within the snare and one further tap turns them off. The sound activation is designed not to be triggered by any ambient noise. Check out the images and video. Enquiries via the shop or leave a comment, we’d love to know what you think.

A new bus for London
A new bus for London | Greater London Authority.
I wonder if this sleek new design for the double decker will include an anti-sleep system for those late night revelers from Tottenham Court Road. Its based on the much loved Routemaster and is due to hit the roads in 2012.

Banksy hits Auckland
We’ll be booking our tickets to see Banksy’s film ‘Exit through the gift shop’ at this years Auckland film festival.
http://www.nzff.co.nz/default.aspx?id=8560®ion=2
“Exit Through the Gift Shop bills itself as ‘a Banksy film’ and ‘the world’s first street art disaster movie’. If it is indeed directed by the artist who goes by the name of Banksy, it is one of the most inspired, adroit, hilarious debut features ever (please quote this on the poster), but one should expect no less from the mystery man who printed Lady Diana £10 notes, painted nine graffiti images on the Israeli West Bank barrier wall, and placed an inflatable effigy of a Guantánamo prisoner in Disneyland. These and many other profoundly political works, executed with great panache, are glimpsed in the movie, which also includes many freshly minted Banksy aphorisms… However it came into the world, it is a joyous addition to the potential catalogue raisonné of the artist who turned Warhol inside out by proving that anonymity is cooler and more difficult to sustain than fame.” — Amy Taubin, Film Comment
